Replacement Eryri Local Development Plant (LDP3)

The Authority has started the process of drawing up the new Eryri Local Development Plan. The LDP identifies what can be built and where. It tackles the need and locations for housing, employment, community facilities, retail, open space and other land uses.

The new LDP will cover a period between 2026 and 2041. It will determine how we take future planning and development decisions in the National Park.

Review Report

Local Planning Authorities are required to review their LDP to ensure that LDPs and their supporting evidence base are kept up to date to provide a sound and effective basis for making planning decisions.

The first step was to prepare the Review Report which has been informed by stakeholder engagement and took place between 7th April 2023 and May 12th 2023.

Call for Candidate Sites – Open  Until May 11, 2026

A crucial step in drawing up the new Local Development Plan is to identify potential sites for use, such as housing, employment, green infrastructure and open spaces, etc. It is necessary to identify sites for development, as well as to identify sites that need to be protected because of their value as a special landscape, open spaces, or for their conservation value.

We therefore ask you for Candidate Sites that can be considered for possible inclusion in the new Local Development Plan.

Submit a Site

To submit a site, please complete the ‘Candidate Site Proposal Form’ electronically via the link provided. The online form enables site proposers to produce and submit a map, obtain information about planning constraints, and upload supporting documentation. It is necessary to use the standard form within the link to submit each individual Site.

Call for Candidate Sites – Supporting Documents and Further Information

Please see Supporting Documents and Further Information for further instruction regarding the process. Consideration should be given to the Guidance Notes, Process and Methodology document for Candidate Sites, as well as the Constraints Map, to assist you in submitting candidate sites, which can also be found here.
